Review & Reply Guidelines

Please read these guidelines carefully before posting a review, asking a question, or replying to another user. Your content should help others understand real experiences while staying respectful, factual, lawful, and privacy-conscious.

Be respectfulShare factsProtect privacyAvoid harmful claims

Important notice

Rude, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, defamatory, misleading, or privacy-invasive content is not allowed. Depending on the seriousness of the content, it may breach platform rules and may also create legal consequences under applicable law. Always write responsibly.

TenantsCheck.mt is intended to support awareness and responsible decision-making. Reviews, questions, and replies should be based on genuine experiences and written in a way that is fair, proportionate, and useful to other users. Do not use the platform to shame, attack, expose, threaten, or harass anyone.

1

Be respectful and constructive

You may describe a negative experience, but you must do so calmly and responsibly. Avoid insults, name-calling, mocking, humiliation, aggressive language, threats, bullying, harassment, or comments intended to provoke another person.

A helpful review explains what happened, when relevant, and why it mattered. It should not be written as a personal attack.

2

Do not share personal or sensitive data

Protect people’s privacy. Do not post information that could unnecessarily identify, expose, or endanger another person.

Users must NOT post:

  • Phone numbers, personal email addresses, or social media profiles
  • ID cards, passport numbers, residence cards, or document photos
  • Exact home addresses, door numbers, or unnecessary location details
  • Bank details, account numbers, payslips, contracts, or payment cards
  • Health, family, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, or other sensitive personal details
  • Photos or videos of people without a clear lawful basis and permission
3

Stick to real experiences and factual information

Your review or reply should be based on your own experience or information you honestly believe to be accurate. Avoid exaggeration, rumours, gossip, copied content, misleading wording, or statements that you cannot reasonably support.

Better

“In my experience, rent was paid late for two months, and communication was difficult.”

Avoid

“This person is a criminal, disgusting, and should never be trusted.”

4

If you are unsure, say so clearly

Do not present assumptions as facts. If something is your opinion, belief, or memory, make that clear. This helps readers understand the difference between confirmed information and personal interpretation.

  • Use phrases such as “in my experience”, “to the best of my knowledge”, or “I may be mistaken”.
  • Avoid making serious allegations unless you have reliable evidence.
  • Do not claim someone committed a crime unless this has been legally established.
5

Reply to questions in a helpful way

Replies should answer the question or add useful context. Do not use replies to start arguments, pressure other users, ridicule someone, reveal private information, or continue a dispute.

  • Stay on topic
  • Use neutral and calm wording
  • Give practical information where possible
  • Do not gang up on, shame, or intimidate another user
6

Content that is not allowed

The following content may be removed, restricted, or escalated for review:

  • Insults, threats, harassment, intimidation, or abusive language
  • Discriminatory, hateful, or demeaning comments
  • False, misleading, exaggerated, or malicious claims
  • Defamatory statements or serious allegations presented without proper basis
  • Private or sensitive personal data
  • Content encouraging revenge, public shaming, or targeted abuse
  • Spam, irrelevant comments, or repeated posting of the same issue
7

Report concerns instead of escalating

If you believe a review, question, or reply is false, abusive, illegal, unsafe, or privacy-invasive, use the available reporting option. Do not respond with insults, threats, or counter-accusations.

Reporting helps the platform review the issue fairly and take appropriate action where needed.

Before you submit, check the following

Is it respectful?

Remove insults, threats, sarcasm aimed at people, or emotionally charged wording.

Is it factual?

Keep it based on real experience and avoid rumours or unsupported accusations.

Is it private?

Remove personal data, sensitive details, documents, and unnecessary identifying information.

Is it fair?

If you are unsure, say so. Make clear what is fact, opinion, or personal belief.

By posting on TenantsCheck.mt, you confirm that you understand these guidelines and remain responsible for the content you submit. Content that breaches these guidelines may be edited, hidden, removed, or escalated for review.
